Lukuyanus Monument

The Lukyanus Inscription and Horse Rock Relief are also referred to as the Lukuyanus Monument in sources. Dating to the Roman Imperial period, the monument is in the Beyşehir district of Konya. It is located 100 meters east of the Fasıllar Hittite Rock Monument. The monument consists of a 1.85-meter-tall horse relief and a niche carved into a steep rock about 10 meters above the ground. To the right of the horse relief, about 5 meters above the ground, is a Greek inscription measuring 0.85 x 0.95 meters. This inscription describes horse races to be held for a horseman named Lukyanus, who died at a young age, and the rules of these races.
